We can change minds and spur action when we reach the right people in the right place at the right time with the right information.
I do that for B2B professional audiences, informing and nudging leaders and decision-makers toward smarter, better workplaces. I do this through the power of targeted content — email, blogs and more.
How do I do that today?
I’m an editor of B2B email publications giving need-to-know information to select audiences. My publications include the SmartBrief on Leadership email newsletter and blog, and my editing roster includes a range of industries, including national-level distribution, manufacturing and education audiences and niches like parks and recreation and building service contractors.
I help companies succeed in digital media — whether it’s showing how quality targeted content improves sales and content marketing campaigns, working with trade associations in partnership or writing on the nuances of workplace leadership and management.
How I can help you
I can speak at your online or in-person event about workplace leadership, B2B content and audience insights, and content-driven email marketing. Most recently, I spoke at the 2019 Berrett-Koehler Book Marketing Conference and presented at webinars organized by Managing Editor and Influence & Co.
I’m also available for freelance copy-editing, proofreading, content research and content strategy consulting, particularly in the B2B space. Email me for rates and availability.
I blog here infrequently.
I also recap The Onion from 20 years ago in a weekly email.
More background: I started off as a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund copy-editing intern at the Star-Tribune in Minneapolis. My first full-time role was as a copy editor, then copy desk chief, at a daily rural newspaper in New York. In 2009, I moved to D.C. to become a copy editor at SmartBrief, becoming an editor in 2011 and a senior editor late that same year.
